Has anybody had their shares in a company professionally valued?

Well, yes, separation of assets and all that, the value of my shares in exH company tend to less predictable and as varied as British weather so... so to avoid further heartache I'm thinking in getting a surveyor/accountant to value the shares, I really don't mind if they are valued less than what I have been told, as long as I can walk out of this not thinking I have been taken advantage of.

Does anybody now how much (aprox) this peace of mind will cost? I mean, how much a professional share valuation may cost?
