comparison sites, advice PLEASE?

atm, i am looking for contents insurance.
they are some sites i want to try.
confused.com
moneysupermarket.com
gocompare.com, etc.
-are these independent sites? or they sell some products?
-do you know others that i can rely on?

Really recommended.

I've used confused.com for car insurance with no problem - not sure about go compare.

I've used moneysupermarket - they offer a credit check facilty which requires contact details - subsequently got lots of sales calls.
