2 quick questions - is there a charge for using a Thomas Cook visa card abroad and where is the serial number on a travellers cheque?

I think the only credit card for which is not a charge for using it aborad is the Nationwide card.

All the others charge varying amouns per transaction - I think usually in the order £1.50 or so. They claim that yuo benefit from an imporved exchange rate

Don't know the answer to the thoer one.

ALso, speaking from bitter recent pexerience, yuor firned should make sure to let her card company know that she is going abroad otherwsie the transaxction might be declined as potential fraud. (or it might just be that M&S are particulary vigivlaint )
