Sister's bank account has been frozen........

apparently she has banked a fraudulent(sp??) cheque, that she thought had been issued by our local council.

Assume she has tried phoning and just asking them to unlock it, minus the sum of the cheque, until the matter is sorted?

Are police investigating fraudulent cheque (not that I'm suggesting your sister's guilty, just wondering if the bank intend to do anything other than make her life difficult)

am a little confused to be honest, my other sister is going up to the bank with her tomorrow to try and sort this mess out.

I would put it past her soon to be ex-h to be behind it somehow.
