I’m now on the 10th week of waiting for my results. Has anyone’s taken this long?

I waited 8 months for mine!

Over a decade experience here in the welfare benefits profession and unfortunately the wait for outcomes for LCWRA can be long- for UC you can try leaving a message on your journal to ask about progress however it may be that you will have to wait unfortunately.

Do you mean it’s ten weeks since you started providing fit notes or 10 weeks since you had your work capability assessment?
From supplying your first fit not it’s usually about 6 months.

I had my assessment on the 4th of August. I’ve been told and told that it’s with the decision maker but that was weeks and weeks ago. My work coach has tried chasing it up and we both just keep getting the same answer, when it’s ready it will be on there. It’s causing me so much stress and anxiety the longer it goes on.

when you received your assessment results did it come back that you was eligible for LCWRA in the end?

It did yes. That was 10 years ago and they’ve not assessed me since.
Also, if you’re awarded it they will backdate it riiiiiight back to the date you first applied so it’ll be a big chunk.

No, there is usually a 3 month waiting period.

fizzwhizz1 · 14/10/2026 20:47

Same here. Think it was a 6 month wait from assessment to result. But as other poster said; it was backdated

Thank you all x

8.4 LCWRA: when you’ll get extra money
If your WCA decision is LCWRA, you’ll usually get the extra money 3 monthly assessment periods after you started submitting medical evidence (such as fit notes) showing that your condition limits how much work you can do.
There are instances where it can be added on straight away, for example if you have 12 months or less to live or if you’re moving from Employment and Support Allowance (ESA) to Universal Credit.

I waited 2 years. Then they told me Id missed the cut off for a mandatory reconsideration or appeal. Cunts.

Springtimeinsunshine · 15/10/2026 10:36

Mine took three weeks from WCA but the assesser at the time said I had given really good evidence eg clear hospital documentation, and he actually thanked me as he said it made his job so much easier.

The wait time could be down to the decision maker having to ask for further information from your consultants or gp. Sometimes it's not about whether they award you or not but for how long, eg a year, ten years or a lifetime award.

It was almost 6 months from assessment to decision for my friend's son: had his assessment early in April and got his decision a couple of weeks ago.
