Anybody got any genuine work from home ways to make money? 🤗

Childminder?

Pet sitting? I know someone who looks after small animals, hamsters, gerbils, Guinea pigs, etc when people go on holiday.

Are you hoping to work around children/with them present? If so, you might be limited to self employment. Most employers will expect you to have childcare in place for your working hours and its more usual to have some concept of core/regular houras when you commit to being available to work.

Self employment options - really depends on your skills etc. Low skilled:

• pet sitting
• cleaning
• ironing
• informal/occasional babysitting

Requires licensing/qualification:

• childminding
• dog daycare

skilled:

• tutoring if you are a teacher/highly qualified
• beauty therapies/haircare etc from your home

Another option if you have space can be being a "host family" for an overseas pupil at a uk boarding school.

What are your skills, qualifications, interests?
Is it a side hustle to fit around another job/commitments or this would be your only income?

Hi - Have a look at Prolific. I think they are currently accepting new people - It is work from home surveys and AI task, earning at least minimum wage. I pick up around £100 a month there but I know others earn way more.

Also Microsoft rewards is great for an extra £15 a month in Amazon vouchers. You get paid for making searches via Bing search and micro tasks - You'll never be rich from it, but I keep the vouchers and use them for Christmas gifts.

Thanks for all the suggestions everyone 🙂 I’m currently in property management and I do that 3 days a week since I’ve had my son. I haven’t got a very big place or a garden so I wouldn’t be able to do pet sitting. I was thinking of more of a at home on the laptop kind of set up. I’ll check out prolific @KitKatKathythanks. I was thinking along the lines of something like this but a genuine one. Even an extra £100 a month would be helpful 🤗

Careful with Prolific. It has reviews on Trustpilot saying that they collect a lot of your data and ID details before offering work, then there are issues with payment. Check the negative reviews first.

I saw on here that someone suggested doing a paper round. I walk the dog for each morning anyway and one day I spotted a sign in the post office saying they needed people to deliver on weekdays. I now make £82 week after tax delivering newspapers while walking the dog. Would something similar work for you?

If you search "fully remote" or customer services/ administrator and select remote on job sites sometimes those types of jobs are fully remote.

You won't be able to do them while caring for a young child though if you do need to care for a child.

Its very difficult - to earn as much as £100 from things like prolific you would need to put in a lot of time and its not consistent. Generally you make tiny amounts for the time invested. You'd probably make more per hour doing a single shift behind the bar of your local pub.

If it was quite easy/doable to sit on your laptop of an eve and earn a few quid every teenager and student up and down the country would be raking it in and no one would be skint.

Maybe I’ve been lucky (and I do put the hours in) but Prolific has been fabulous for me. I joined in May and have earned almost £1,500 so far. Yes they do ID checks and collect info when you join but I think it’s as much for money laundering prevention as anything else. It depends how comfortable you are doing some of the work, some people want to remain completely anonymous and avoid any camera or voice work and others are less bothered. I’ve done Teams calls, lots of AI work, focus groups, loads of interesting psychology and finance studies, environmental studies and am really enjoying the work. I can honestly say I have never had any issues with payment at all. You are paid via your verified PayPal account. If you earn over £1,000 pa you have to declare it on your tax return and pay tax accordingly.

Rent out a room or driveway space.

Dog grooming. There are courses you can do and actually it's not really hard. During COVID when we couldn't get our dog groomed DH did a course and I think he does our 2 girls just as good as the groomer did them. He does take longer though. DH says he thinks he'd speed up if he groomed more dogs.

I am on five surveys. It pays £1 a survey and you can cash out after 5 - so £5. I aim to do / earn £5 a day. Sone says it’s easy, other days it’s a bit harder, but it has really been worth it for me. Prolific is fine. No problem with payment ever. If you can get on the ai training ones, it’s not bad. $20 an hour. I just find it boring and it gives me a headache if I do too much.
