Worst Customer Service

Today’s worst companies to phone - Allianz Travel insurance as part of Lloyds Bank Platinum account - 40 mins on hold no answer gave up

And

Equiniti Shareview - 30 plus mins on hold. Eventually got through and put on hold for ages. Hung up!

Grace and Oliver- very poor quality and badly sized goods. Their website states ‘easy returns within 30 days’ but their customer service refuses to supply a returns address and continuously offers a 30% refund or store credit. I am currently having an ongoing dispute. Appalling lack of customer service. 😤😤

NameChangeScot · 28/08/2026 16:47

I've just renewed my home insurance with Allianz 🤦.

Sports Direct, terrible, you can't return anything for refund, the multi-buy deals never apply to anything once you get to the till, online postage is a bloody fortune and even £5 to collect from store. They no longer do blue light discount which used to be the main reason we went, I have two sporty boys and no other option in our town.

heartsinvisiblefury · 28/08/2026 16:59

Hello Fresh - the absolute worst. Liars and scammers.

You beat me to it - they cancelled our account and then when we rang up to question non-deliveries they effectively laughted and hung up

How does your impatience equate to them having bad customer service? You didn’t even give either of these companies the opportunity to help you!

Oh FFS no one should be on hold 40 mins - you clearly have nothing to do.

I refuse to buy anything from Sports Direct especially online because of the postage and I've read so many people have had problems and SD are a nightmare to deal with so if I see any good offer online I ignore it, coz it probably won't be as good as it looks.

Currys. They lost my laptop which was in for repair under warranty then lied about it.
British Airways-they never reply to anything. Complaint too long to go into here,

namechangedtemporarily123 · 30/08/2026 00:08

The CMS. Wait for an hour to speak to someone, they’ve thought of 100 different ways to make it impossible to message/ email. I eventually took to writing to them by post as that was the least draining on my time.

Crikeyalmighty · 30/08/2026 00:12

Evri! No way of actually speaking to anyone - £80 item ‘said ‘ on email ‘delivered to safe place’ , not delivered and no picture !!

CarryOnRewardless · 30/08/2026 07:12

British Gas. What a complete shambles they are, 4 months with them and they could never seem to generate an electricity bill.
Countless phone calls and every person I spoke to was totally useless

Oh yes, complained for a year that my smart meter did not work. In the end had a years worth of gas written off. Wish I’d not complained now and carried on with free gas. Dreadful customer service.

I switched after 4 months with them and they had the cheek to charge me £50 per fuel exit fee. Saying I’d breached the contract as I’d left before the 12 months was up. Raging I phoned and said surely part of the contract is for you to provide me with a bill!
More phone calls and raising a formal complaint later they agreed to refund the money.

Would never go back to them

Rant over 🤣

HexInductionHour · 30/08/2026 09:03

Might be easier to name the good ones ?

OVO are terrible

OccasionalHope · 30/08/2026 09:05

Virgin Media,

no email address, when you ring they want a password and having been a customer for 30 years I either never had one or have long forgotten it, No idea how to get in touch, I am paying a lot of money for no service.

write to their postal address, no response,

ShitHoleDweller · 30/08/2026 09:06

Does anywhere have good customer service anymore? I fell like anything I have to sort out with a phone call just leaves me on the phone for an hour in a queue while I’m cleaning my whole house with the phone shoved in my bra. Huge waste of time.

VanillaIceIceBaby · 30/08/2026 09:07

EE

They just do live chat but with a robot that says it isn’t AI if you ask. Then it just repeats platitudes like ‘don’t worry, we will help you with this’ whilst doing absolutely nothing. Then you get an email saying ‘case closed’

These companies aren’t real companies, they are scam websites.

Avery & Scott, Clara London, Hudson Grace, Ivy Luna, NinaNicole UK, Sophia Rose London and so on.

springintospring26 · 30/08/2026 09:13

Sarah Raven. Customer services took
two weeks to respond to my email about a sickly tiny plant. Then had the gall to suggest it looked ok to
them. Once I contacted PayPal I was refunded.

Optimisticdramalarma · 30/08/2026 09:20

Notonthehighstreet

I bought something (cannot remember what but remember it was about £40)

Never arrived,I contacted the seller who basically told me 'tough shit,I sent it' and refused to deal with me further

I contacted notonthehighstreet and I've never had anything like it

Dead email address, dead phone numbers,no address (that i could find) found someone to talk to but they called me a liar 'who just wants a freebie' and i finally had to do a chargeback via my bank

I then got a flurry of messages from the seller and notonthehighstreet (basically calling me a liar) and finally got a refund (and another snotty message from both)

Put me right off-its a shame as it was my go-to for mil Christmas presents

almondflake · 30/08/2026 09:23

tui were terrible with us when holidaying in Barbados .
We’d booked a holiday with TUI and BA were the carrier we had no problems with arrival and had a fantastic holiday but on leaving the country TUI hadn’t transferred the money for our outgoing flight, we were on the flight manifest but our seats hadn’t been released. Trying to contact TUI was an absolute nightmare we could only do it through messaging and there was nobody replying . We were lucky we had my husband’s business card as we had to pay again for our flights home .
On arrival home we still couldn’t get hold of TUI , no apologies that we could have missed our flights and , we finally got a refund on the extra flights booked , we did wonder how often it happened as they were so blasé about it .

I got caught by one (can't remember the name of it now) and the goods arrived, looked nothing like the photo, were shoddily made (lopsided hems, threads hanging off, much shorter than the picture) and to return them to China would have cost about the same as the goods.

After email back and forths, I made a formal complaint via my Visa banking card but the company lied to them, my bank took ages and I just got sick of it in the end and closed the complaint as the item wasn't that expensive. I've got more wary and now always look on trust pilot before placing an order with any new company I'm not aware of - there are loads of those companies around and you're right they are a massive scam.
