Which energy supplier do you use?

We have just moved into our first house where we manage the electricity ( our previous property was a rented apartment and the landlord managed the energy bills due to the meters being in the plant room)

Our current supplier is British Gas on a standard variable tariff which I left for the time being so I don't incur exit fees if I switch to another provider, I saw on uSwitch that Eon Next are coming up cheapest followed by Octopus but Im totally focusing on the cheapest, I also want a supplier who isn't appalling should problems arise.

I'm with octopus. I can't compare to others in terms of prices because they've changed so much since I was with any other supplier.

Have you looked at the comparison sites to see how they compare based on your household size etc?

Eon. Whenever I've had a problem they've been easy to deal with so I haven't switched

In my old house was with EON Next and they were great never had an issue.

Moved into new house in May and went with British Gas, never again! 3 months here and they can’t seem to generate an electricity bill.

Switched this week to octopus, heard good things about them but if they turn out to be rubbish I’ll go back to EON Next

Our deal with EDF has come to a close and we've switched to EON. Not had an issue with EDF and we've got a feed-in tariff already with EON, and it's offer was marginally cheaper than EDF's equivalent.
I'd go to the Money Saving Expert site and put in all your data to get the best offers compared.

Im with Home Energy. Havent had any issues so far

Yeah I just checked it out and that says EON is my cheapest so I'm putting a request through to switch to them, they are miles cheaper than British Gas and it's fixed

I know of a few people that have had issues with British Gas

Never had any bother with them and their app works well for meter readings and bill checking.

Eon, i'm as pleased as you can be about paying energy bills🙄, i have been in credit for months and my dd has been lowered and i find their system fairly easy to understand.
Previously i was with Ovo the supermarket energy i used switched to them and they were terrible ,high dd ,never in credit and impossible to work out their billing process, i wouldn't touch them with a barge pole !

I’m with BG , never had an issue , bills are relatively cheap for size of house and the fact that we don’t skimp on usage , I do change tariff fairly regularly for both fuels .

Octopus got moved to them when bulb went bust never had any problems with them

Was with octopus - just moved to fuse this week as predicted about £10 a month cheaper (on a &120 bill)

Think they are fairly new. I think my sister moved to them a while ago.

One of my sons moved to a house where previous owners had BG. They insisted that the DD was set at the same sum as them even though he was sole occupant and at work during the day whereas previously had been a family with 1 wfh. Tried for a year, maybe more to get it reduced and a refund , no joy, whereupon he switched to Octopus and then had to argue to get his substantial surplus back.

You'll likely be fine with Eon Next, we've been with them for a couple of years without issue. Before that it was Octopus but they've been no longer cheapest last couple of times I've looked.

If you join MSEs cheap energy club, they'll save your details and remind you when the tariff is due to end. Sadly you probably need to hop from deal to deal or else you end up on more expensive tariffs. The same goes for Broadband and insurances.
