Me & DP been together 8 years and lived together for 2

i have sold my house and put my equity into our new property.
i have contributed 10% of the house value
DP owns 90%.
I pay 10% of monthly mortgage plus money in the joint towards bills, cleaner, food etc

we have agreed that in the event of a split I get my original sum back plus 10% of any equity in the property sale

if either of us passes away things are different.
just looking for outside opinion

Yes that sounds fine.

WhatAMarvelousTune · 30/07/2026 13:26

we have agreed

Is this all official? Both your names are on the house etc?

MathsandStats · 30/07/2026 13:27

It sounds fair to me but I'd get some sort of legal agreement drawn up otherwise if it's in his name only you may end up with nothing. People are much more reasonable when they're together than when they split.

Yes we have a legal agreement all signed in presence of solicitor
