HMRC delay over missing NI years and Class 2 eligibility

Hi,
I was wondering if anyone else has had a similar experience with HMRC? I am work as a school teacher in Guernsey.
I submitted an application before the April 5 2025 deadline to pay for missing years pensions contributions. I also submitted my husband's form at the same time! My husband had the 'ring back' and was told to complete CF83 he did and within about 2 months he had back paid and was continuing to pay class 2 contributions. I missed my 'call back' and so rang in June. I was then told to fill in CF83. I did.
By the end of November I am getting a little concerned not to have heard anything so ring and am told Im in the system. There is an approx 40 week time delay on the applications.
I ring again the end of March and am told 'I'm between departments.' I ring again at the beginning of June and am told if I haven't received anything before August the 5th, I will be put to the top of the pile!
I received a letter this week from HMRC, making no mention of paying back previous years - even though my application was submitted before the deadline and they have sat on my form for well over a year. They also requested all my previous employment history - even though this was compiled and sent to them over a year ago! Then they told me I will only be able to pay the more expensive class 3 contributions, whilst my husband who is also a teacher, has payed class 2.
How is this fair?
Anybody else had such a long delay?

I finally got mine sorted over a period of years. As long as you submit before any deadlines you should be ok. There's an online tracker that gives a timeframe for review. Mine showed nearly a year on a few occasions. Just be patient and see it through.
