thats it really

I live in a hard water area and im obsessed with my iron. I have oly ever put de-ionised water in it, never tap, and as a result my iron is still good as new

went to do ironing, opened up a bottle of de-ionised water and poured it in.... then i saw a bit of black in my irons water chamber.... looked IN the bottle and there is loads of mould in it [vomit] (the water also smells of mould)

bought 4 bottles at a time in the same batch... opened 2 more and they are full of mould too.... not opened the 4th

So now i have black bits of mould in my iron can i demand a new iron too?

I would tell them exactly what you told us. It could help.

thanks

i cant imagine the customer services woman doing any more than offering me more water...

but a while back when supermarket petrol was contaminated and damaged all those car engines the petrol people were liable to fix the cars, so surely this isnt any different?

thought Id update

i went to asda and explained it all...

they said they were very happy to give a brand new iron so long as i bought my old one in (so i went back and got it)

have exchanged my perfectly good 'mid range' tefal iron for a brand new 'top of the range super duper' tefal iron so im happy!

(the other iron was 2 years old)

(they also refunded me for the manky de-ionised water!)
