I have a universal credit question.
Child benefit told me to tell UC that my daughter was staying in education until July 2027, I did this on the 28th May.
I got a message in the journal saying it needed to be verified by them with no time frame and I would get a note in journal when done.
Nothing on there yet I’m just very worried that this will affect this months payment or do they carry on paying as normal??

Do they mean they'll verify with Child Benefit or are you asked to produce anything? MAybe ask a question in the Journal?

No they haven’t asked me to do anything just said they would verify but couldn’t give me a time frame I just want to know if my payment will remain the same?

I thought they asked us ? Do we have to notify them ? My dd is home educated and will be till her 20th birthday and we eill
receive CB till then I assumed UC would ask as she’s 16 now ? Maybe I’m meant to let them know but for my son they asked us each year he was at college ?

Is she waiting to find out whether she will be going to sixth form or college ? has she just done GCSE's ? Some people on UC facebook sites are saying that the child element for their kids stopped at this point ( the end of June or last day of term ) until they had a definite college or sixth form offer but I don't think this is correct. I would have thought it would continue until after results and once people have a better idea of what their kids are going on to do.

They do ask but as I know now child benefit woman told me to tell them now, I just need them to verify it as I’m pretty convinced my money will be a lot less until they do!

not doing exams just staying for year 14 life skills I’ve told them all this just still waiting to hear back from them 🤷🏻‍♀️
I need the money to be unchanged whilst waiting

How old is she?

18 she can get CB and Uc til August 2027
