Kit days whilst on 90% SMP - should I get a full day on top?

I ended up taking maternity leave early due to a couple of reasons but I’ve agreed to work a few days at the start of June whilst I’m still on 90% SMP that you get for 6 weeks.

Should my employer be paying a daily wage ON TOP of my 90% SMP?

By law, they don’t have to, but some companies will. They would be in their right to just pay the 10% extra that would give you your normal salary.

That said, the two companies where I’ve worked in payroll both paid KIT days on top of SMP (so we would pay SMP and then X hours at the employee’s usual hourly rate). Best thing to do is to ask Payroll or check your maternity policy!

I worked in a tech company no one did kit days during Smp as you didnt get the full day pay.

Also check what constitutes a day. For us 1 x meeting was enough
I did a 30mins VC and got a full days pay..
Space them out nicely and thats your 10 days!
