How long does a CCJ set aside usually take?

Bit of a shock this one, I’ve just found out I’ve got a CCJ on my credit file from over 3 years ago 😳 I had no idea about it at all as I never received any of the court letters due to an address issue.

I’ve now sent off an N244 application with all the supporting docs and emailed everything over. I also rang the Civil National Business Centre to ask how long it might take, but they were pretty vague and didn’t really give me a straight answer.

Has anyone here been through getting a CCJ set aside? How long did it take to hear anything back from the CNBC? And did you have to go to a hearing?

If you did was it actually set aside in the end?

Just feeling really clueless about what happens next so would really appreciate hearing other people’s experiences.

Thank you in advance 😊

Applications to set aside will be looked at by a Judge. That can take a bit of time.

Whether applications succeed or not depends on the facts.

Do you know why the original 'summons' wasn't received?

This, the reason you didn’t receive the initial comms matters hugely.

If for example it wasn’t received because you failed to update the V5 for a car when you moved if it’s parking related then you’re not going to get it set aside because it’s your own fault.
