Will NHS maternity pay be adjusted when a salary sacrifice car lease ends?

Hi. I work for the NHS and I am currently on maternity leave.
I have a lease car through the nhs on salary sacrifice. Which was being deducted from my wage when payroll calculated my maternity pay. This has reduced my OMP by about £4500. Which is fine and I was aware this would happen.
however, my lease ends in September. And I am not due back to work until February. Payroll are not allowing me to order a new car on the scheme because it would take me below national living wage.
When the car is returned, will payroll adjust my maternity pay to reflect this? As otherwise I would be technically paying a car that I no longer have, as payroll were deducting car payments from my wage at the time they calculated my maternity pay?
TIA.

not 100% sure, but I think not as your mat pay (occupational mat pay from nhs) is based on what you earned in the qualifying period. Payroll should be able to give you a schedule of what you’re due to be paid, best query it with them.

Unfortunately no OP, this is a downside of salary sacrifice schemes. Your OMP is fixed at the point that it is calculated which is between weeks 15-25 of pregnancy, it does not change or get recalculated after that. It makes no difference that the car is going back, that does not change.

You sacrificed some of your salary to save on tax. Your maternity pay is based on whatever your salary was during the qualifying week. That doesn't change after mat leave has started, regardless of what may or may not be going on with the car.

You win some, you lose some, I guess. Hopefully whatever you saved via the salary sacrifice scheme will be enough to offset whatever you have lost in mat pay.
