Can anyone find me some good wording for a Charity Car Wash Damage disclaimer??

I have googled and failed..

Our church is running a community fun-day which was very popular last year (all free & lots of crafts, games, puppet shows, bouncy castles etc)

This year we are trying to get some donations and so are running a car wash, BUT think we should have some sort of Disclaimer in case someone blames a stone chip or similar on one of the kids.

They will be supervised & DH (who used to valet cars) will inspect them all first to watch out for this sort of thing, but we would like some "at owners risk" wording.

Can anyone help?
TIA

write something along the lines of:

I understand that the car washing is undertaken at my own risk

................. (Signed by driver)

...................(signed by supervisor)

Also, i assume the church has public liability insurance if they have run this before

i would ring the charity commission for some further guidance

i don't think anything would be legally binding IYSWIM

Thanks. I agree re legally binding, but we want to try & stop any silly claims.

We even put signs on our trampoline (Parents responsible, bouncing at own risk etc) when we have the church BBQ here - esp after that neighbour was sued for a child who was injured on abouncy castle in her garden.

unfortunately i think you are right to be cautious in this climate

i am organising a charity walk and the paperwork i have had to submit is mind blowing

good luck with it
