Am I being dim or have they reduced child benefit surrepticiously?

I have recently noticed - OK its been a few months but not very clever here - that my child benefit payments since April have been being paid in monthly instead of 4 weekly. This means that whereas once a year I had a 13th payment, two in one month a year, there will only be 12 payments this year. The day it is paid in always changed whereas now it seems to be paid in on 2nd each month. I calculate that although the amount went up again this year it actually works out that I am going to get less as I miss out on one whole payment a year.
Has this happened to anyone else, or was it all discussed in the budget and I missed it? Or am I being 'done' ?

Phone and ask, but no, there were no changes announced in the budget afaik.

Thanks, its just I was expecting to get 2 lots last month as if it was paid on the 2nd I should have got another lot on the 30th or 31st but i didn't . Just another one on the 2nd again. i have 3 DC can anyone tell me what i should be getting each week or every 4 weeks?

Mine has gone up this year. It was £18.20 a week and now it's £18.80. Crack open the champagne, eh?

Just the one. I checked the government website and apparently for the next child it has gone up from £12.20 to £12.55.

i get 175.60 per month for 3

With 3 kids you should get £43.90 per week.

So £175.60 if 4 weekly, or £190.23 if monthly (1 month £190.27 + 11 x £190.23 to be precise).

Last two payments I had were the 28/4 and then the 23/5 (friday rather than the monday) because of the bank holiday. So I actually had less than four weeks. However, this bank holiday thing that worked in my favour disadvantaged you...you were paid slightly early, (2/5 being the friday before the first bank holiday) your next CB was then due 4 weeks from the monday (5/5) hence you not getting paid until 2/6. HTH

Thanks serenity, if thats the case that means i should get my extra payment at the end of this month - i'll wait and see before storming off to picket Revenue and Customs

cluttered -I've noticed the same thing. It should have gone into my account before my pay did but it was nearly a week later last month.
