Self assessment student loan payments

Does anyone know roughly when to expect a student loan payment made as part of self assessment to hit the student loan account?

As part of my self assessment, I paid around £3500 of student loan on 31 January, this will leave around £3k outstanding. As soon as the self assessment payment has hit the loan account I want to pay the remainder of the loan off to avoid an overpayment next tax year but not sure how long it takes?

You can just ring the student loans company and I think you can just offer to settle the outstanding balance. Then next year just answer no to the “do you have a student loan” on your self assessment

Thanks I’ll give them a ring. I’d assumed that because I can’t see the payment when I log into the student loan account that it hasn’t been allocated there yet but maybe they do actually have the up to date balance.
