How much would this have cost me?

Bit of light-hearted fun for anyone that can be bothered, but curious to know the answer to this!

I had a dream that my husband decided to buy a new house. It wasn't very nice and not in a nice area - definitely not an upgrade (l love my house!)

In my dream, I went along with it till the day of the house move and all my belongings were being loaded on the back of the removal truck and I went mad and said we were pulling out!! Meanwhile in the dream at the time, my husband was madly chasing our cat that had escaped when we opened the door to the removal firm (we don't even have a cat!

I'm curious to know how much this would have cost me! What would I have been liable to pay? 😂

If you were doing same day exchange and completion and you hadn’t exchanged, it might not cost you anything (depending on the following), perhaps just your removal costs. But you would have a lot of irate people cursing you. Most likely you would also be contractually liable for legal and estate agent fees. If you had exchanged, you could be forced to complete and liable to pay the costs of the whole chain for any delay - movers, hotels, caterers, etc.
