Hey, I’m so confused as I’m getting difference answers when I read up on this. My daughter had to recently come of my claim due to turning 19, she gets pip and uc now and will be getting lcwra. My question is i currently receive £201 a month in my bank each month as her carer which is carers element. Will this stop when I get her lcwra sorted? My main concern is I currently have work search commitments switched of. But I’m still going to be taking care of her so I worry if it stops then my work commitments are back on and I won’t be able to take care of her.

I think it’s poss because as an adult dd would be contributing to household expenses as an adult in her own right? Could you ask your/her work coach?

If you are still caring and her PIP award hasn't changed you will keep the carers element and the associated switched off work commitments.

This is correct.

The £201 you mention is the carer element in UC. It's paid on the basis that your DD is on PIP AND you spend at least 35 hours a week as her carer. It's not affected by claiming UC in her own right or whether she gets LCWRA.

Whether she's awarded that, unless she's in a cohort who get it automatically such as being on chemo, will depend on a health assessment.
