Figure on NHS total reward statement

For NHS staff, on the TRS, is the large bold figure underneath all the calculable figures the total amount in your “pension pot” which is going to have to last divvied up through all the years you are retired?

I don’t think so, but don’t have access to mine at the moment - there isn’t a pension pot as such in the NHS pension.

There's no "pot" but this"virtual pot"is the figure used for tax purposes when calculating your life time allowance.
Your pension is based on either final salary "'95 scheme or care average '15 scheme

Do you mean the ‘hypothetical annuity cost’? If it is this figure then that’s the amount it would cost you to buy an equivalent pension. The lump sum & pension figures are what you actually get & cos it’s defined benefits scheme it pays out as long as you live. I’m no expert but I’m NHS too! There’s a good Facebook group ‘NHS & Public Sector Pensions Information’ which is really informative & you can ask questions etc & the pensions expert will answer.

Yes, @WinterNightStars I was going to recommend the same Facebook page. Laura, the woman that runs the page has incredible knowledge about NHS pensions & she has lots of free resources on the page. She also does free webinars to help you understand your pension & TRS statement.

Thanks for these replies. I have seen that Facebook page, even though I don’t have an account there. I look at the TRS all the
time in esr, I suppose I just wish I had someone sat with me so I can literally point at what I’m looking at!
