Anyone claimed bank charges back from Halifax or Alliance and Leicester?

just sent my first letters to both as per moneysaving website - not expecting a quick result but have made a start.

Just wondered what response people had had from these 2 banks?

Dh got money back from halifax, no bother.
They left it as long as possible, with a couple of stalling letters, and returned it just within the time limit.
Good luck!

Halifax are pretty good.

Halifax wouldn't pay up to me
But good luck anyway

we claimed from halifax just before the banks went to court. We had to go as far as getting court date before they settled.

not had an acknowledgemnt or anything from them - how long do you have to wait until you write again? My first letter is asking for details of all bank charges ( I enclosed a £10 postal order) to secure this

14 days. I got £2,500 from Halifax. Be persistant. Visit the consumer action website. Look through the threads for the Halifax and take down contact telephone numbers.

When it comes to waiting for your money, the day before cvourt action is due and still no reply, call them again, ask them to make you an offer before you take court action. They are still paying out atm iirc.

it took them a couple of weeks i think to send us all our bank statements and then you have to trawl through them to find your charges.
Look at templates on money saving website that gves you rough timescales to wait.
