Do I need to pay for apple care if I have phone insurance through my bank?

I’ve just had this thought as I have upgraded my phone and it arrives tomorrow. Usually I will automatically pay for Apple care from arrival. But if I had pretty comprehensive insurance through my bank account (loss, theft, damage, breakdown) it seems kind of counterintuitive?

I’ve always relied on my bank insurance. Happily never had to make a claim. I hope that’s not wrong!

I haven’t since I started getting my own phone contract but thinking about it now the only thing I really use it for is to have cover in case the battery needs replacing. But by that time I’m usually ready for upgrade anyway!
