Huge water bill

I was with Affinity Water, paying c.£40 p.m. Slightly too much, I got a refund when I moved home.

Nothing has changed, still 2 adults, no baths or garden watering.

Southern Water's first bill is £70 for 1 month !
I've checked the meter readings, usage is the same, but the price difference is enormous.

I thought I could change suppliers, like gas & electric, but it seems not.

Is there anything I can do ?

All water bills increased in May this year.
I'm paying the same with South West Water.

It's the disparity.

£40 v £70 for the same amount of clean & waste water.
I expected all suppliers to be broadly similar.

Southern Water increased its charges by 47% percent this year; the highest of all the water companies - with more increases to follow.

Thanks (sort of !) for that.

It does seem incredible that they can do that.

I think all of us Southern Water customers were pretty shocked; it was a huge increase.😬
