How do I get a loan when I've just gone self employed?

I need a loan of about £3000 urgently. I have good credit score. Unfortunately, my bank refused me money (after initially telling me verbally that they could do it) because I went self- employed in last few months so don't have evidence of my earnings. I can earn a lot through my self employed work and this can be seen in my account. I've been with my bank 35 years. Is there any way I can get a loan in next few days from anywhere? I have a very good reason I need money- not my fault. Never been in this situation before and have no one I can borrow from. Slightly panicked.

Have you got a credit card?

Yes, I have a credit card but it has £1000 limit on it.

Can you ask them to up your limit?

That's a good idea. I thought if they said no to a loan they'd probably also say no to increasing my credit card limit. Thanks so much for replying. I'll try that.

Thank you so much for suggesting credit card. I've just done it and they said yes and all sorted immediately (not for the full amount I really wanted but close to full amount). I need to review my finances but will probably be ok now. The relief is huge.

Awww that's great. Glad you got it sorted.
