what is a pre bailiff visit??

because the fuckers who were supposed to be my debt managers haven't been paying my creditors (is that the right word?)and a note was shoved under the door to tell me i had had a pre bailiff visit and to call the number (no answer when i rung this evening, will try again after 9 2mo)
