Can I earn money from DS13 TikTok account

Copied from parenting in case anyone can help

Hi mumsnetters
My 13 year old has recently been allowed a TikTok account and I agreed he could have a non private account as long as it was anonymous and only posting gaming edits, nothing showing him. I've done all the family pairing and restrictions etc. He has got over 10,000 followers with £1m+ likes across the few videos he's posted.
Conscious that TikTok do pay out for accounts that get lots of views, I wouldn't want to miss out on being able to make him some money for the future. Is there any way at all to do this as a parent on his behalf (the creator program is strictly over 18s) and if so, and clues as to what I would need to do?

A couple of years ago, possibly

not now. Saturated

I’m afraid 10000 is paltry compared to those that earn

Join the creators fund and see where it takes him

@hairyunicorn that was my question - you can’t join creators fund as an under 18 or on his behalf as far as I can see

Thanks- given he’s going up by 1000s every day I suppose my question is if he got a big following is there a way to earn money from TikTok however small the amount legally on his behalf

Spcial Media is now a saturated market. There will never be another Mr Beast or PewDiePie.

Your son cannot monetise his own channel, you would have to do everything for him. Negotiate endorsement contracts, file tax returns, essentially you would be running an online business with your son as the product. Also, this will follow him for the rest of his life, so you must make sure his digital footprint is squeaky clean. A single DM or post that could be deemed offensive, insensitive or derogatory, could not only kill his platform, but make him unemployable for life.

It's not as simple as making a few videos and cashing in.

Mr Beast's platforms are worth close to 20 Billion, but he doesn't have to worry about anybody finding his content offensive, he was already a millionaire by the time woke became a thing. He, and all the "old" social media "stars" had already established themselves, and had "fuck off" money in the bank long before we all became offended at a tweet.

Be careful with how you do this.
