UC whilst on maternity leave

I am currently 37 weeks pregnant and have just started mat leave.
My husband and I both work but are still entitled to universal credit, we also have 1 child who attends nursery part time (whilst I work) so these costs are claimed for.

Do I need to tell UC that I am pregnant and on Mat leave or just when baby arrives?
I get 90% pay for 6 weeks and then 50% plus statutory. I know they will get my pay details through HMRC but an online calculator is saying that I will be entitled to less just by being on mat leave even though my earnings will be less than normal which has confused me!

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

https://www.turn2us.org.uk/get-support/information-for-your-situation/bringing-up-a-child/expecting-a-child According to the link you upload your Maternity certificate to your journal. I expect they might reply if they need further info from you. Also some general info https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/maternity-certificate-mat-b1-guidance-for-health-professionals/benefits-available-during-pregnancy-background-information

If you claim maternity allowance it’s deducted £ for £ for UC but statutory maternity pay is deducted in the same way that wages are. The the calculation you did assume you were on MA?
