In praise of small claims court

Had a problem with a local business who refused to reimburse me for unused unopened good (tiles) as initially agreed, well they never actually refused just kept fobbing me off and failed to respond to two letters.
In the second letter I threatened them with the small claims court as it had been going on for about 8 weeks. I used the form of words suggested on the website (www.moneyclaim.gov.uk).
Eventually I issued a claim - took about 20 mins on line and very easy, cost £25.
Three days later got a cheque for the full amount owing plus court fees, now just waiting for it to clear!
I have no doubt I would still be waiting if it wasn`t for the ease of making an on line claim...highly recommended.

I have also used them to take my ex-landlord to court as they wouldn't return our deposit. We won in full, very easy to do!!

Can I ask what section the advice bit was for how to word the letter? Was it the sample letter shown for a plumber dispute?

I have already written a lette whcih got some goods delivered , but now hes sent sub standard outstanding peices , myself and the client want everything taken away and their deposit returned.

May be I should start my own thread hey!
