Universal credit and work hours

I have 2 young children (single mother) and receive universal credit, I currently work 24 hours a week over 3 days. How likely is it when my youngest goes to school that I will be pushed to increase my working hours? In theory I may be able to increase hours but it’s not a given. I’m just wondering if UC push you to go full time even with young primary aged children.

Once your youngest is 3 you are expected to look for 30 hrs a week. In reality, if you work for 18 hrs a week at or above minimum wage and earn £952 or more a month you will be in the Light Touch Work Group and won’t have to attend appointments.

Earn over the AET for a single parent and you are left alone.
