Universal Credit Review Bank Statement Issue?

Hi Everyone!

I am having issues with my UC Review and am looking for some advice from people who have been through it. They have asked me for 4 months worth of bank statements so I went on my banking app downloaded April, May, June and July's and uploaded but they are saying they are not full bank statements and readded the to-do's? Is it because my statement range is from 23rd of a month to 22nd of a month? If so what do I do about that? I can't change it, these are literally my official monthly bank statements! I replied back to the person on my journal but it takes a while for them to respond and they have given me a deadline date of the 4th August. Should I just reupload what I sent in the first time so the deadline doesn't hit with an outstanding to-do?

Thanks in advance!

I would send the statement either side of the four months so it includes 1st of the month on the March and September statement. If that's not acceptable, ask them what is.

I would re- upload the 4 most recent statements and also add a note to your UC journal, stating that you already uploaded 4 months of bank statements, but you've done it again as requested. Clearly state that the statement month runs from the 23rd to the 22nd of the following month and the 4 statements are: March 23 - April 22nd; April 23 - May 22nd; May 23- June 22nd; June 23 -July 22nd.

UC should not have a problem with how your bank statement month runs - A UC monthly assessment period often does not run from the beginning of the month. Have you uploaded statements from all bank accounts (eg do you have a savings account you've forgotten about)?

Just an update if anyone is interested. I ended up having to write a strongly worded message to the review person on my journal because I explained 3 times that my statements run from 22nd to 23rd and that I had uploaded four full statements covering 22nd March to 23rd July and explained if the missing 9 days at the end of July was really an issue then they would have to wait until my August statement would be ready which would be 23rd August. The person on my journal replied three times saying every time the same phrase "we need full bank statements", thats it. Not addressing whether that meant they would be waiting until 23rd and, if so, could they make sure it doesn't not affect my next UC payment due on 23rd since it was not my fault they were not happy with what I sent them despite it being exactly what was asked for (last 4 months full bank statements) and an extra couple of weeks thrown in for good measure. I was starting to feel like I was messaging an AI chat because we were going around in circles with them sending the same response phrase over and over. I ended up requesting that this be escalated to someone more senior and then suddenly she was all "I guess I can accept what you have sent me if that is what the bank has given you"...I ended up reuploading everything I originally sent and responded with "reuploaded for your convenience. To clarify, these are my full bank statements obtained from the bank covering all transactions from 22nd March 2025 to 23rd July 2025. I can confirm these are the documents sent to me by my bank when I request "the last 4 months of full bank statements" which is exactly what is asked for when uploading documents. I believe it should also be sufficient to establish my ingoings and outgoings which is the purpose of the review" (yes I ended up getting a bit snarky but it had been hours of this at this point and I was fed up!)

Fingers crossed that I have finally passed the first stage of the review and will now be scheduled a telephone interview to justify every single penny spent... Good luck to them, my bank statements are VERY interesting...if you find Iceland, Lidl, rent and utilities interesting!

The funny thing is, my bank statements match up with my assessment periods as I am paid on 23rd of every month. It does make you wonder what they would ask from someone if the review happens to fall in the middle of a month, would they have to wait for the end of the calender month in order to have the correct bank statements. That's assuming of course the issue was because my bank statements don't match up perfectly with the calender month.
