Posting for accountability

Payday is Friday, I have maxed out my overdraft so my mum has just paid for new tyres for my car.

I used to be so good with money but a few things have happened in life and I think I just buy stuff to make myself feel better.

Anyway I hope it’s ok to post this to start with and I’ll come back later (when I’m home from the garage…) to post the MSE calculator.

i’m not expecting any responses necessarily but hopefully MN doesn’t mind me using this as a bit of an accountability thread? 🧵

I’m an emotional spender too and I just don’t know how to change it.

Cadburyegg. I've saved the thread and I'll be keeping an eye out!
You need to get more enjoyment from saving than you do from spending and the pounds will mount up.

I’ve had phases of this so I understand. It’s been easier since I increased antidepressants, had hrt and changed employer. It’s also good to see the savings mount up though sometimes I spend some of those. It’s easy to do when you’re feeling down. My downfall is scented candles and new PJs, and treats for the dog. Though I don’t feel guilty about treating the dog.

Am watching with interest!
