Can someone please help,
partner got into a massive argument, were he packed his bags and left.
for context we have a child together
we spent 1 weeks low contact only discussing our son, so I believed the relationship was really over..
we have now started communicating and both decided we don’t want to end our relationship and that we do want to make a go of things.
But in that week he left, I removed him from our housing and put a claim in for UC, when claiming they asked if I would like an advice payment, I accepted £300.. I haven’t touched it I just accepted so it was there if I need anything before my first payment.
but my question now is what do I do? I know I obviously need to close my claim, but can I do that before my first payment and after my advance payment..

If he has moved back in then you need to add him to the claim straight away and make it a joint claim.

This ^ Or if you don’t want to claim jointly, you’ll need to request to close your claim.

If you’ve taken an advance, it’ll be recovered from your future UC awards (if you claim jointly), or if you close your claim it’ll be Debt Management who will contact you to set up a repayment plan.

If you close your claim you can wait for Debt Management to contact you, or you can contact them directly to sort this out - 0800 916 0647 - or use the online portal on Gov.uk (search DWP Debt Management and it’s under “repay and manage benefit money you owe”).
