Hi

Received this email but suspect it's a scam
Copied and pasted below

Reference Number- 1010655202

Good Afternoon Amanda,

My name is Adam Wood. I am contacting you from the Goods Removal Team of the FCML Debt Enforcement Bailiffs.

This is to bring to your attention that we have received a legal notice against you from your creditor where you are not making the contractual monthly payments because the creditors have approached us in order to get a “{CCJ} (County Court Judgments)” against you.

As a result, you will have an attachment of earnings to your Wages/Benefits of £627.51 from the following month.

  1. Issue a warrant of control to enforcement agents to take Control of your goods (which will incur additional costs).
  1. Make an Attachment of Earning Order (for deductions to be made from your salary).
  1. Make an Application for Benefit deductions (for deductions to be made from your benefits).

If you don’t wish to engage with us, we will now organize the removal of goods with immediate effect.

If you wish to avoid this, you have the following options:

  1. You can pay your creditor in full and avoid any Attachment of Earnings or County Court Judgment,
  1. If you are struggling, we can suggest alternate options or an affordable payment plan. Also, we can suggest the best Debt Help Company for you for all your consolidated debts which you owe in your name.

If you have any interest in the above solutions, you can reply to the email and an associate will call/email you back with a solution that suits you the best.

Please let us know at the earliest.

Thank You,

Adam Wood

Enforcement Officer

Looks very scammy to me. What's the email address it came from? And how are you supposed to pay?

Kangarude · 23/05/2025 19:35

Looks like a scam. Check the email address of the sender as PP advises

BadgersSuitcase · 23/05/2025 19:37

Of course it’s a bloody scam!

Mymanyellow · 23/05/2025 19:37

Do you have a contract with a creditor to pay anything? If not then must be fake.

JillAndJenTheFlowerpotMen · 23/05/2025 19:37

The grammar isn’t right. So I think it’s a scam. You can check if there is a CCJ against you.

OhMyGiddyAunt · 23/05/2025 19:38

Is there anything that you're paying monthly for?

If so, have you missed any payments?

If the answer is "no" then it's a scam.

47andahalf · 23/05/2025 19:38

Google search the register for enforcement officers. Check the bailiff company and individual name referenced are on the register. If not, then v likely a scam. If they are,, phone the registered Office and ask them for a copy of the court judgement against you and the enforcement order.

NewBuildNewGarden · 23/05/2025 19:39

Hahahaha, that is absolutely, 100% a scam! Totally ignore, delete & block email, forget about it.

IfYouPutASausageInItItsNotAViennetta · 23/05/2025 19:39

Well, do you have debts with outstanding/missed payments?

If yes, then it may be a scam; if not, it very likely is a scam.

Alternatively, there could be a debtor with the same/similar name as you or a previous resident of your house whom they are after. They may have bought a legitimate debt for pennies in the pound and are just scattergunning everybody who tenuously 'matches' with their details in the hope that they strike lucky.

Very similar wording in this post on MSE https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6572507/email-from-a-bailiff-is-this-a-scam

Happyher · 23/05/2025 19:46

i think you have to be formally served notice before they can do any of the above either handed to you or posted through your letter box. It’s a scam.

MrsRedTop · 23/05/2025 19:49

I investigate scams for a living. It’s a scam.

Shesellsseashellsnotinmystreet · 23/05/2025 19:51

If you are with Halifax you can see if there is anything affecting your credit score.. Something like this would show up.
I witnessed bailiffs entering (not my home) and they gave no warning or chance to pay like that so I say scam.

Sera1989 · 23/05/2025 20:06

I only have experience from when I got letters about an ex boyfriend’s debt but they sent several letters naming the creditor and then hand delivered a letter before claiming they would come and seize goods. This “organize removal of goods with immediate effect” bit doesn’t sound right and they would surely include your full name. I think it’s a scam

Stepfordian · 23/05/2025 20:09

I doubt they’d email you and not tell you what it was referring to, ignore.

Bromptotoo · 24/05/2025 12:02

If it was real then surely the creditor would be named.

Are you aware of any outfit you might owe money to or have a disputed debt?

Do nothing.

ThatDenimExpert · 24/05/2025 12:06

Scamming scum

BeNiceWhenItsFinished · 24/05/2025 13:39

How did they get your email address and who is the supposed 'creditor'?

GeorgeWM1993 · 31/05/2025 05:34

I’ve had the exact same email. Word for word, it’s got scam written all over it

IbizaToTheNorfolkBroads · 31/05/2025 05:43

Another thread about this recntjy SCAM

BunnyRuddington · 31/05/2025 05:46

You can’t have benefit deduction for a CCJ.

AliBaliBee1234 · 31/05/2025 05:50

I wouldn't have thouht anything legitimate would be sent by email

ConcernedOfClapham · 31/05/2025 05:53

‘Report phishing’ is a useful tool in these circumstances, and automatically blocks future emails from this party.

obviously, DO NOT open any attachments.

LIZS · 01/11/2025 09:10

Think - how would they have randomly got your email, why are they not referencing the actual alleged debt and creditor, why have you not previously been made aware of any debt or court action? Scam.
