Hi, dd 17 who lives with me had a baby few days ago. I claim UC and dd is on my claim, I need to take her off mine so she can claim her own. My question is my statement is available today and my payment is due on the 11th, if tomorrow I do a change of circumstance to remove her from my claim will my statement change for this month or will I still get my current amount this month and payments will change from next month. If next month will they want some back from my dd element for this month? DD hasnt made a claim yet we are doing it tomorrow I just wanted to know am I best getting this payment first or does it not really matter as if i do get the child element they will want any overpayment back next month or is there actually no overpayment as my dd hasn't made her claim yet? Sorry for babbling on, hope this make sense.

General principle in UC is that changes of circumstances are effective in the Assessment Period you inform them.

If your payment is on the 11th then your Assessment Period ended on or around the 4th and your payment for that AP is correct.

If you move her off your claim tomorrow then that will take effect from the next AP.

She then makes her own claim.
