How can we marry ?

My understanding is if you draw up a will the moment you get married the marriage invalidates the will is that correct?
If so, how on earth can we get married if I get hit by a bus on the way from the church to the reception? My children could be left pennyless.
Is there any way around this? Am I missing something?

Make the will in expectation of marriage

Yes. You write the will in anticipation of getting married. Not quite sure if this is the correct legal wording.

This. As long as the will is clear that it is in contemplation of the specific marriage then it will remain not be revoked by that marriage (assuming England and Wales - obviously check legally esp if different jurisdiction)

There is a legal framework just for this situation, you do a new will 'in expectation of marriage' which is then not invalidated. A will writer or solicitor can do this correctly for you
