Looking for a pre paid debit card

I'm going on holiday soon with a friend (UK)

The hotel doesn't accept cash so we thought we'd get some sort of debit card, and add an equal amount of money to cover drinks etc would also be useful for buying lunches/coffee etc when out.

Can anyone recommend anything. The ones I've looked at are mainly for using abroad.

Would be great if there was an app for us to keep track of, and a card each would be good but not essential.

Thanks

We take it in turns to pay and log charges on an app called Splitiwise which then sorts out who owes what at the end.

Sorry, that sounds too much of a faff.

I'd prefer a card and that's it done.

I used to use Pockit but currently use Hyperjar.

Get a Monzo account, really quick & easy to set up online.

You could put it on Apple Pay (or similar), so one person uses that and the other person uses the card.

I have hyperjar which is handy for shared costs but you both need to have an account.

I use Revolut both in the Uk and abroad, so each to top it up and is accepted everywhere

Does it need to be a prepaid card? They usually have charges and a bad exchange rate. Why won't your regular cards do? I have a starling account that I just use for holidays and I transfer what I want to spend on to it and can top up as I go if I need to.

Edited

My friend doesn't use her card except to get cash from the ATM. Doesn't use online banking either.

We're holidaying in the UK but the hotel is cashless so we thought if we have a card and put x amount on then that would do us, a bit like a kitty.

Would also cover coffees/lunches etc

The other option I thought of was to put everything from my current account into my savings account for the week and use my card.

That way I can check our balance, transfer more if needed etc less hassle as well

Gosh that's restrictive for her. I would just take it in turns then probably. Have a lovely time.
