Deed of variation question

Koolforkats · 09/04/2025 12:12

I am the beneficiary of a will and I want to gift half my share via a deed of variation to someone connected to me and not already in the will.

If I do this, would they know whose estate the money was from? Or can it be done anonymously (in that they’d know solicitors involved but not who had died?)

NAL but we are in the process of doing similar and the original beneficiary, the new beneficiary and the executors all have to sign the deed. We are doing this ourselves without a solicitor as all the parties are close family and you can get a proforma and guidance off the web. Hopefully someone with technical knowledge will reply, otherwise you will need to ask a solicitor.
