Insurance broker or financial advisor for life insurance?

Can anyone recommend an insurance broker or financial advisor for helping me find the right life insurance policy? If I go through a broker will they act in my interest or just try to sell me something more expensive than I need? Am I better off just getting quotes from some of the big providers?

I work for a broker, we work hard to find the right policy/ies for you- our business is largely referrals so bad advice would soon bite us in the bum!
Any broker with good reviews, or recommended by a friend etc, I would hope would act in your interest, we have to explain and justify everything we say, certainly through our regulatory network the controls are very tight.

I can provide you details by pm, I'm not sure if we are allowed to name on here but I would also really recommend asking family and friends, particularly with family members this can be a really good way to open up some really important conversations.

Thanks for the response! I don’t have any family in the UK to ask and not many friends either (and most of my colleagues are a lot younger than me and not thinking about these things yet) so that’s why I asked on here although I appreciate recommendations random strangers on the internet are not the same as people you know well.

Can't you just get quotes yourself aboud the excessive commission?
