Paying HMRC

Can anyone help me administer paying some tax for my father.

He has dementia and lives with us. I have POA. He has a relatively small tax bill to pay due to tax on savings interest and has to pay by June. They cannot take it from other sources so it has to be paid. We are failing big time in setting up a Personal Tax Account. He doesn't need one apart from it, presumably, offering a way to link to pay.

Is there any way I can simply call HMRC and make a payment over the phone or make a payment online without a PTA?

Ta!!

Not sure - You need to call HMRC.

As you have POA already it will make it much easier to sort this out.

Thanks.

I called them and as part of their advice as you are waiting to speak to one they cover this.situation - so it must be quite common this year.

I need the reference starting with an X on the charge letter and then I can apparently "pay simple assessment online" so I'm off to do that now.

Hopefully all sorted!

Thanks
