I’m so Sick of Being Skint. Here’s How I Made £333+ in My First Month of earning money in My Spare Time.
As a single mum of two, working more hours than I already do just isn’t an option as childcare childcare costs are a joke. So, last month I tried a bunch of small side hustles in my spare time, and to my surprise, I made £203.44 + $167.44 in my very first month!
Here’s what I used:
Dscout - £38.11 + $30.00
Prolific - £46.55 + $4.44
Vinted - £37.25
TopCashBack - £30.35
Custard Cashback - £38.25
Amazon Associates - £12.93
Bubble Arena - $133.00
Totals: £203.44 + $167.44
With todays exchange rate £1/$0.77
Combined totals - £333.00 or $430.37
Nothing crazy, but it’s taken the edge off the cost of living crisis.
Info on what each one is plus links to their website/app:
Dscout – Earned money by answering questions about travel via webcam and by filling in a survey about my child Amazon tablet.
Prolific – User research, mainly surveys or user testing.
Vinted – sold a bunch of old clothes
TopCashBack.co.uk – earning cashback on things I was already going to buy, £162.45 still pending as it can take a few months for the money to become payable.
Custard Cashback
This is a cashback website but I have earned this amount by doing some of there sign up offers and playing games.
Amazon Associates
I have only uploaded 3 videos after being approved, these were all things I already own so after creating and uploading the videos hopefully they will carry on creating passive income.
Bubble Arena
So this one is a random one I have played it for years and never tried to withdraw any money from it but as I was doing well I thought I would give it a go and it did appear in my PayPal account 2 days later. I would really recommend this as it was a bit of fluke.
Also something else that may help with the cost of living crisis is Olio - Your Local Sharing App which you can find free food from local supermarkets , discounted produce and also people giving away old items. I have found this useful for fruit and veg.
I’ll be posting updates each month, so if you’re curious about what actually works, stick around.
Please note that winnings and cashback are not taxable in the UK but extra income is taxable. Recently the UK government has announced that people will be able to earn £3,000 a year from “trading income” before they have to fill in a tax return – up from the current £1,000. This is not financial advice I am just trying to help people out and earn some extra money in 2025 online.
