Has anyone on here ever had any luck with paying in a TT currency cheque into a UK bank account please? Asking on behalf of my mother in law who has been given a TT cheque from her fathers will and doesn’t have a TT bank account.

Your DM will probably need to go to her bank in person and ask them. I used to work in a bank years ago, and there was a procedure at that time for accepting cheques drawn on foreign banks, so I expect they should be able to help.

It might take quite a while to clear though, and there will probably be bank charges on top.

Can her father's solicitors do a bank transfer?

They'd obviously have to <drum roll> cancel the cheque.

I have paid foreign cheques into UK bank accounts. They take longer to clear and there is a charge, it was Nat West.

Frustratingly the money has already been paid into an executors account in Trinidad, so she has to take it as a cheque. Trinidad and Tobago aren’t on the lists of currencies that banks can cash in the normal foreign currency way. Just wondered if anyone had any experience with Trinidad and Tobago currency? Thank you :)
