Want to cancel Virgin, they say I am tied in despite being a customer since 1999

Have taken full package with Sky instead, called Virgin to cancel and as they gave me a special rate 6 months ago they say I am tied in till Nov despite joining them in 1999!

I signed no contract - they say a verbal agreement is enough. In my job this would not happen.

Shall I just cancel my DD with them or will they sue my arse?

I thank you.

I suppose it's similar to mobile phone contracts, if you upgrade or take a special rate you are tied in for 12 months or 18 months Sorry not want you want to hear but I think you are tied in. If you cancel your DD they will invoice you for the remainder of the year

I work for BT and its the same with them, if they give you a special rate its normally if you agree to staying with them for another 6/12/18 months...you will be tied in.
If its cancelled they will bill you for the remainder of your contract
