To be fair my supermarket shops in France, usually Intermarche, have not been cheaper than the UK for several years now.

UK spending on food had been widely regarded as being the lowest in Europe, so that doesn't surprise me to be honest.

Sparklehead · 21/03/2025 08:20

My guess is £60, based roughly on Aldi prices, where I shop

Echomama · 21/03/2025 08:20

This is easily €120 upwards and it makes me incredibly sad that shopping in the uk is so cheap 😥

Where are you based @Echomama 😭

Echomama · 21/03/2025 08:40

France. Even with a lidl shop it kills me weekly haha

No idea about the first bit as obviously I don't purchase dead animals or their excretions or ova. So cant help there. The rest would be from £50 - £60.

I suppose, I am wondering why you couldn't have typed - "I'm a vegan, so excluding the meat, dairy and eggs, the bill would be £50-£60".

TheChosenTwo · 21/03/2025 09:06

Haven’t looked, I’m guessing around £85

TheChosenTwo · 21/03/2025 09:08

Just looked back and saw I was spot on! Do I win a prize?

MrsPerfect12 · 21/03/2025 09:09

£60

Onelifeonly · 21/03/2025 09:10

About £65

bloodredfeaturewall · 21/03/2025 09:21

would be around €120 my way
but mostly organic.
so conventional about 80-90

PickAChew · 21/03/2025 09:24

Around £80. Tenderstem broccoli and green beans are pricey, even in season.

Bowling4soup · 21/03/2025 09:27

£65 or a bit less

Favouritefruits · 21/03/2025 09:31

These days about £90

DrFoxtrot · 21/03/2025 09:48

I love looking at other people’s shopping lists, that are so different to mine, and imagining what they’ll cook 😁

kitchenplans · 21/03/2025 09:57

Canaryhead · 20/03/2025 23:51

It was £85 in Tesco so close

Put it in my Sainsbury's trolley and it came to £52.60 (using mid range (mostly own brand) products, avoiding Nectar Price or Value Ranges).

So either Tescos is very expensive, or OP makes expensive/luxury choices.

DrCoconut · 21/03/2025 13:56

I’d guessed about £60

Mimilamore · 21/03/2025 18:18

£58.00 but Aldi and Savers shop

sakura06 · 22/03/2025 08:26

£80
