UC budgeting advance

I have never had a budgeting advance loan before but my income will have now dropped to less than £2600 in the last 6 months. Due to circumstances not my fault as thought I had some work I also seem to have no employment at all but I do recieve PIP.
My assessment period ends tomorrow.
Can I ring up tomorrow and start the process to claim or have to wait until the 19th when my statement is generated?
Unfortunately had an accident with my car and need to find £700 for excess.

both myself and my child are registered as disabled with UC and it’s crucial we have a car. Would they allow it for this

I dont think you would get as much as that offered anyway but you can ask. Budgeting advances are generally for essential household items or something which can help you into work.

I’d ring tomorrow and ask, it may take a couple of days though. They can pay the same day in extreme circumstances - be clear and call first thing in the morning.

thank you. I wasn’t sure if I had to wait until statement generator or until last day of assessment period

If you called after your statement is generated, they'd just create an amended statement to reflect the advance payment.

I meant to add, you should be able to ask for up to one month's normal payment - so assuming you would receive £700 or more, they should be able to issue that much as an advance, and take it back over (up to) 24 months.

Advances are not paid on your regular statement as they are processed separately.
