hello

does anyone have any experience applying for a shared ownership property with a local authority? I’m trying to work out some details and can’t find any information on whether they take a child’s DLA into account when working out affordability…?

dc1 bought a SO property last year and is on PIP.
The company that did all the affordability checks refused to use it because not all banks will accept it.
However dc went independently to get a mortgage (because the affordability company they were made to use were charging £1000 to set up a tiny mortgage). Leeds building society were great and took into account a proportion of the pip.

Thank you so much, that’s really helpful to know that it isn’t just one rule for everyone and there is some flexibility :)
