PIP APPOINTEE QUERY

I was made the DWP Appointee for my dh who has severe mental health issues last July. It was Universal Credit who suggested and arranged it and a DWP representative visited the house for a home visit to interview both myself and dh. I was then made his Appointee to deal with all his DWP benefits, UC, ESA and PIP. Today I received a letter from PIP stating that as it was a while ago since I was made Appointee (it was only July 2024) they were writing to check dh still needed me to act as Appointee. I had to fill in a form and return it within 2 weeks to PIP offices in Wolverhampton. We are currently waiting for dhs PIP to be reassessed after sending in completed review forms last September and I wonder if this is in any way connected. I just thought it was unusual for PIP to check up on me like this, especially after we had a home visit from the DWP and it was only a few months ago. When I returned dhs PIP review form I even enclosed a copy of the report from the DWP representative and they were obviously informed by the DWP, along with ESA and UC that I was now the Appointee, so why are they checking up on me now?

I’ve had similar for my son’s DLA. As far as I’m aware it a standard letter sent out periodically so they probably didn’t even realise you’d recently had the home visit.
