Can anyone advise what a P47 is from hmrc?

There's no official tax form called "P47" in the UK. You might be thinking of a P45 (given to employees when they leave a job) or a P46 (given to new employees to help employers determine their tax code).

Sorry it's not very helpful.

As @DanFmDorking has said, there is no HMRC P47 form.
