My husband works for the nhs and is due to be regraded which means he will receive some back pay. We don't know how much. For how many months would this affect our universal credit ? Obviously it will stop for one month, but will it just be 1 month, or will it go into future payments?

It depends how much he's paid.

Sure I've read somewhere that where pay increases result in large sums of backpay the NHS will add it to monthly salary in installments so as to avoid complications with means tested benefits.
