Child maintence help?

Good morning

My youngest DC (4.5) dad decided he wanted nothing to do with him whilst I was pregnant and agreed, prior to vanishing, he would send payments of £150 per month which he has done every month without fail

Until I checked my bank and realised the payment for last month and this month had not been paid

I am happy to open a case through the CMS however I am not sure if they would be able to assist as I only have his name?

He does have 2 DC with his ex wife however she made it very clear, when I attempted to reach out so my DS could have a relationship with their half siblings, that my DC did not exist and she would not do this for fear of it jeopardising their relationship with their DF

Does anyone have any experience of this?

CMS are good at tracking people down and you may have more information than you realize. Do you know where he worked or where he went to school. You know how to reach his ex-wife so you must have her social media or email. Even a phone number.

Is his name on the bank account details, from the payments he has sent?

Definitely look into opening a case asap and they will tell you what you need to provide. There are ways and means of finding the information, people are chronically online these days, but he may have gone out of his way to be hidden, under these circumstances..

Yes his full name is on the account it comes from although the reference appears to be a spurious number and no actual reference to it being child maintenance

His ex wife blocked me so no I don't have any means to contact him as he changed his number not long after I had DS

Thankyou both for your help , I will get on to them today

Ultimately it doesn't matter about the bank account, and proving he's been paying up til now as they only go on when you apply anyway... So, they will just take all info you have to track him him down, and ask him to do a dna test to prove, or disprove paternity. He will have to do the dna test, he can't just say no and not pay. Then it's between him and cms.

Good luck
